Hello chefs! Today we’re paying tribute to Best Home Chef’s most prolific contributor, Anna Linhart. With 186 recipes, Anna is our keenest community member – always coming up with imaginative new ways to serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.
We here at Best Home Chef were impressed not only with Anna’s culinary inventiveness, but with her kind and generous nature. Anna only ever has nice things to say – offering heartfelt words of encouragement to her fellow contestants, and thanking everyone profusely for their feedback on her own recipes.
On the menu:
Prepared by the lovely ladies in our PR department, Anna’s Tortilla Stack was voted dish of the day.
Here it is being prepared:
Although there was a small hiccup in the form on a severely burnt tortilla, crisis was somehow averted and the fire department was not summonsed. Yay!
The final result:
Annabelle has every reason to look this pleased with herself; it was a triumph.
Next up, we enjoyed:
In the image above, you can see the perfect cohesion of French fries, eggs, cream, bacon and cheese.
Here is our copywriter Richie adding style and flair to the dish:
And here is the end result!
Next time, we’ll do as Anna advises and let it sit in the fridge overnight, so everything can set. That way, you can slice it nice! (Rather than what we did, which was shovel dishevelled wads of potato matter onto our plates. Anna knows better than anyone that we eat with our eyes as well as our mouths, but sadly our rendition of French Potatoes could have done with a makeover…)
We also enjoyed:
Not just for kids! Our gorgeous designer Amanda put her own personal spin on this dish, creating a ‘deconstructed bruschetta’ that took our collective breaths away:
Amanda’s version included bocconcini slices for the dots, and toasted garlic bread stick trunks! It also featured a basil lawn, and sweet potato soil. Truly inspired.
Also on the menu was:
Here are the dumplings in progress:
Unfortunately we don’t have a (decent) photo of the finished result, but let me be the one to assure you: it was delectable.
As you can see, Mark’s version was virtually identical to the original:
You might be thinking, by this point, that this is quite a lot of food. You would be correct!
Nonetheless, we still managed to find room for:
These were lovingly prepared by our Community Manager, Gillian:
In this photo, the cheesiness of the dish is rivaled only by Gill’s smile.
And for dessert, we enjoyed:
…Which were modified slightly by our talented, hilarious and completely modest writer Louise. (Almond meal replaced hazelnut meal, and whole hazelnuts replaced hazelnut seeds).
They were a hit! So much so that people were asking for the recipe. At which point I was happy to direct them towards Best Home Chef.
So thanks Anna for the delicious lunch! We here at Best Home Chef salute your cooking skills, as well as your warm and generous spirit. We hope you keep cooking and inventing amazing meals for many many years to come!
