  • 6 x egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 300 g chico lollies


In a heavy base saucepan add eggs, milk, sugar, cream and whisk.
Keep stirring over a low heat until the custard thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon.
Be careful not to overcook it or it will curdle.
Add chicos to the hot custard and stir through, this will melt but you can leave some chunks for texture if you wish
Chill on ice or in the fridge overnight.
Put into ice cream machine and churn as per manufactures instructions

  • They are a chocolate/liquorice jelly baby, they are in most supermarket lolly aisles. I think most soft lollies would work, i need to try green frogs or snakes. Hope you find them its yum
