Ingredients

  • 120 g dark chocolate 50% cocoa
  • 250 ml bulla heavy cream
  • 1 splash french vanilla kahlua / frangelico / baileys etc
  • 1 pinch salt flakes
  • 3 1/4 Tbls plain white sugar (granular)
  • 1 tspn vanilla extract
  • 1 small handful roasted pistachio
  • 1 small handful pecans
  • 1 cup grated toblerone
  • 1 cup thick dollop cream

Method

This dessert is really simple, very decadent & rich, so just a small amount will satisfy even the biggest dessert freak.
Perfect if you want to impress your partner, or some dinner guests OR if your like me … you can make this to please yourself :D

I fell in love with this because there are few ingredients & it’s made before time to allow things to set and then some minor assembly for serving.
Enjoy!

METHOD:
Slice the chocolate into thin shards and place in a bowl for later.
In a saucepan add in the heavy cream, liqueur of your choice, salt, sugar & vanilla extract.
Place over a medium heat and stir occasionally til the mixture starts to simmer & is quite warm to the touch but not boiling.
Pour the warm mixture over the chocolate

Using a whisk, begin to stir slowly til all the chocolate is melted into the cream.
At this point stir a bit faster, it will look like its not going to mix properly but with a minutes effort it should begin to combine better and give a lovely shine.

Pour into a small glass or ramekin (I chose some macchiato glasses)
Place in the fridge for at least 2 hours to set up into a rich velvety chocolate fudge.

Remove from the fridge and put little mounds of thinly sliced toblerone on top.

Add dollop cream – Carefully spoon the cream over the toblerone being careful not to touch the sides.
Dust lightly with some drinking chocolate powder OR add the pistachio & pecans.

Enjoy the benefits that come from this Valentines day dessert :)
