- 500 g rump steaks ( cut into strips )
- 3 cloves garlic(crushed)
- 1 x medium red onion ( sliced )
- 1/2 cup dark soy sauce
- 1 Tbls lemon juice
- 2 tspn brown sugar
- 1/4 tspn ginger(from jar)
- 2 Tbls tomato sauce
- 2 tspn olive oil
- 1 L beef stock
1)Combine soy sauce,garlic,lemon juice,sugar, tomato sauce and ginger and make marinade.Pour into plastic container and add meat and marinated for ….20 – 30 min.or over night.
2)In saucepan heat 1 tablespoon of oil,add onion and cook 2 minutes.Set aside.In same saucepan heat remaining oil and add meat and fry about 10 minutes.pour stock and cook until meat is tender.If need more water,add water.If need more marinade pour in the remaining marinade.If the sauce is to thin pour in bit of water with cornflour,make thicker.Transfer onion back into sauce and stir.Taste and see if anything need to be added.
3)Serve with cooked rice.
