Ingredients

  • 1 kg potatoes
  • 1 cup boiling milk
  • 500 g edam cheese
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 1 and 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 x eggs(lightly beaten just with fork) )
  • 70 ml milk
  • 1 cup oil for fry
  • 100 g unsalted butter
  • 1 tspn popcorn salt (season mashed potatoes )

Method

1)Sliced cheese to 1cm thick,put into bowl with cold water, then cover one by one with plain flour,then in milk(70 ml with 2 eggs lightly beaten) and bread-crumbs.Put to freezer.Take it out just before you will fry in pan with oil on higher heat on both sides until gold.(maybe 1- 2 minutes each side )

2) Mashed potatoes.
Cook peeled potatoes in salty water until very soft.Drain and put in butter and boiling milk.Slowly start folding all together until you will have nice and smooth mashed potato.You can use hand electric blender as well.season with popcorn salt, for better taste,but put only half.Taste and see,if anything need to be added.

30Serve with Greek salad or any vegetable salad.

PS.The cheese is the best to serve strait away when is cooked,because it is very soft.You can served with tartar sauce as well.
