  • 1 x pide or pita bread
  • 1 x medium tub of kebab meat
  • 1 Tbls tomato paste
  • 1 Tbls butter
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 bunch chopped parsley
  • 2 x dollops of yogurt


1- Cut the pita or pide into 2 cm cubes and arrange on a tray or a hot iron skillet which I have used. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
2- Place the kebab meat on top of the bread.
3- Meanwhile, melt the butter in a pan adding the tomato paste and water. Cook for 5 minutes on low heat and finally add the pinch of salt.
4- Drizzle the sauce on top of the meat and place in the oven for 15 minutes.
5- Serve hot with parsley and dollops of yogurt

Note: Pide is the Turkish version of a type of flatbread consumed especially in company of kebabs. It has a light and fluffy texture.
