Ingredients

  • 1 cup self - raising flour
  • 1/4 cup caster sugar
  • 45 g unsalted butter
  • 1 x small egg
  • 1/2 tspn vanilla paste

Method

PreHeat oven to 180′C
Sift Flour in food processor with butter and process until it resembles breadcrumbs. Add sugar and process. Remove blades, add vanilla paste and egg to the flour mixture. Stir mixture using a spatula until smooth dough forms.

Turn out dough and gently roll to a thickness of 5 mm. Cut cookies in shapes of your choice using a cookie cutter.

Bake for 15 minutes or until slightly golden. Let cookies cool down completely before decorating.
For Icing, sift icing sugar into bowl, add vanilla paste, and food colouring of your choice, add droplets of water to mix to right consistency. My kids like to decorate with little hearts or smarties.
