- 1 kg diced lamb
- 2 x potatoes (medium sized)
- 1 Tbls coriander seeds
- 2 Tbls clove
- 4 x cardamom
- 1 x 1 inch cinnamon stick
- 2 Tbls grated cocunut
- 1 tspn garam masala
- 1 tspn fennel seeds
- 1/4 cup soaked almonds
- 1 x large red onion
- 2 x tomatoes
- 1//2 cup yoghurt
- 1 tspn chilli powder (adjust to your taste)
- 1/2 tspn turmeric powder
Make a fine paste of all the powders ,seeds,Almonds and grated coconut.
Add 4tbls of Oil to the pan
Once the oil is heated add chopped onions and fry them till they turn brown in color
Add chopped tomatoes,salt,Ginger garlic paste and fry it till tomatoes are cooked
Add 2 mores tbls of oil to the pan.
Now add the Masala Paste,1/4 cup water and cook till the oil separates form the curry .(Keep mixing it otherwise it sticks to the pan).
Meanwhile half boil the potatoes.
Once Masala turns brown in color add the lamb pieces mix well and let it cook on high flame for the first 5 minutes(Dont cover the pan while doing this).After that,Add some water to the pan and let the lamb curry cook on low flame till they are done(you have to cover the pan now).5 minutes before switching off the stove ,add the yogurt and potatoes to the curry.
While serving Garnish with coriander leaves and lemon wedges..
