  • 150 g unsalted butter
  • 1 L milk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 Tbls cornflour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 Tbls vanilla sugar
  • 2 x masticha


1- In a large saucepan melt the butter.
2- Add the flour and cornflour mixing with a spoon on low heat for 1 minute.
3- Gradually add the milk continuously stirring to avoid lumps.
4- Beat vigorously, add the sugars and masticha and continue to cook until the mixture begins to thicken.
5- once the mixture has thickened beat for 5 minutes with an electric mixer.
6- Pour into a 20x30cm base pan (lamington pan)
7- Refrigerate overnight.

This is best served cold out of the fridge. Cut into rectangles lifting them out with a spatula and rolled like a log.

Sprinkle with pistachios and strawberries OR cinnamon (optional)
