  • 1 x packet of shitake mushrooms (40 g soaked in water 20 mins.)
  • 1 kg pork meat (boneless )
  • 1/2 x red chilli,seeds remove and cut
  • 2 x fresh shallots ( for garnish )
  • 2 Tbls dry paprika
  • 1 tspn carraway seeds (very fine grind )
  • 2 Tbls olive oil
  • 1 pinch fresh ground black pepper
  • 3-4 Tbls corn flour
  • 2 Tbls beef stock powder
  • 1-2 Tbls marjoram (crushed in your palms )
  • 2-3 x drops of maggi seasoning
  • 2-3 cloves garlic(crushed)
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 x brown onion (peeled,chopped )


1)Heat oil in pan over medium heat,add onion and cook until soft.Add meat and brown all over.Add carraway seed,stir, add paprika stir and pour in water.( meat must be covered with water,add mushrooms and cook until meat is soft,then add beef powder,marjoram,chilli and garlic.In little bit of water dissolve corn flour and pour in and cook until goulash is thick.Season with salt,pepper and Maggi .Taste,if anything need to be added.

2)Serve with cooked pasta,rice,dumplings or potatoes.Garnish with shallots.
