- 200 g fatty salmon belly (without skin)
- 300 g sauerkraut (ready made)
- 200 ml whole milk
- 1 x pouch knorr swiss cheese soup (powder)
In Japan the belly is a high appreciated part of the salmon so I thought to introduce this tasty alternative for a quick lunch.
Salmon fillet is sold in many places and for your sashimi you don’t use the salmon belly. So keep it seperate (in the freezer) for this delicacy!
Sauerkraut is ready made sold in tins
fry the sauerkraut in olive oil in a large sauce pan, cut the salmon belly in dices and place the dices on the sauerkraut and cover the sauce pan. Leave to simmer on a low fire for 5 minutes.
mix the milk with the powdered swiss cheese and heat in the micro wave for 2 x 90 seconds mixing in between. Pour the heated cheece sauce over the samlon.
after 3 minutes under the lid the dish is ready to serve
I had some “left over” cooked sweet potatoes slices. Fried them with some thinly sliced leek
