- 1 x chicken breast (cut to cubes)
- 2 Tbls light soy sauce
- 3 Tbls five spice powder
- 1 Tbls shaoxing rice wine
- 1 tspn pepper powder
- 1 tspn sugar
- 1 x egg yolk
- 1 cup corn starch
- 2 cups oil
Marinate the chicken cubes with light soy sauce,five-spice powder, Shaoxing rice wine, pepper powder, sugar and the egg yolk overnight in the fridge.
When ready to deep-fry, add the chicken cubes to the corn starch and coat evenly.
Heat up a wok with oil and deep fry the chicken until the chicken turn to golden brown.
Transfer the fried chicken on a plate lined with paper towels to soak up the excess oil.
