- 10 x bosc pears - peeled, leave stalks on
- 1.5 cups raw sugar
- 1 cup water - give or take how much liquid you require.
- 1 x lemon zested - and juiced
- 1 pinch cinnamon - ground
- 1 pinch nutmeg
- 1 pinch clove - ground
- 1 pinch ginger - ground
Place of the ingrediente into a nice big pot (preferably with a glass lid)… simmer with the lid on untill you can stick a fork into the fattest looking pear and it is tender, but not falling apart.
Makes sure that you taste the broth along the way so you know that you have enough sugar, lemon and spices. adjust to your preference
Once tender, take off the heat and allow to cool before serving to get the full flavours!
Fabulour served on top of crepes/pancakes, as the filling for pies and strudles or simply served with dollop cream.
